Tomorrowland in any Disney Park is always a Guest favorite. That retro look at the future is great, even if it is a bit of a mind-bender: We're looking at the future as seen from the 1950's as imagined in the 1970's depicting the 2000's that started 10 years ago?
OK, I'll just have fun and stop trying to figure it out!
But even if the concept gives me a headache, I love the retro-artwork of the merchandise from Tomorrowland. Such as:
An over-sized Mug with some great imagery!
The Atomic Clock around the rim.
The "Bucket Ride"
Tomorrowland Spiel.
Carousel of Progress line.
And the Rocket.
A Disney Parks Designer Series exclusive.
Unfortunately, I can't make out the Designer's name well enough to do any research on it. But I love this style of artwork! It is reminiscent of Shag, who has quite a bit of merchandise on the market for Disney.
UPDATE: Thanks to Disleelandians B and S, we can now share this link to the Artist (Celeste Cronrath) and her spin on the design for the Mug in this post:
Some Mugs that I collect I actually use for my morning coffee, but others, like this one I don't. It sits on a shelf in my living room for all to enjoy.
What do you do with your functional collectibles?
I have two of these mugs! I am a huge Celeste fan!!!!
ReplyDeleteBe sure to visit her website! It hasn't been updated in awhile, but it contains some great stuff!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you enjoyed my mug! It was a lot of fun to make, I got free reign to pick a theme and go with it. I just did what I liked, I didn't expect it to be quite as popular as it has been. Thanks so much for the mention, it means a lot to me=)
